I live in a big 4 bedroom house with my wife, son, and my 70YO parents.
wifey and I like new tech, we got smart locks, alexa, and smart lights. recently we want to upgrade the home security
we have cameras on the front yard and backyard, what ideas do you think will be great to increase the security of the house?
something that doesn't need a monthly pay service

abode is actually great. affordable but high tech. and it's fully integrated with Alexa, Google Home, and even Apple HomeKit

Wi-Fi cameras like Eufy, Reolink that have local SD card storage for video recordings, don't need cloud subscription costs

I use Eufy, its a great non subsciption security cam. (HomeBase options for large local storage and it have good quality cameras)

Before buying more gear, make sure what you already have is boring reliable. Put cameras and hubs on a solid router or mesh, use strong WiFi coverage, and give the smart home its own network or VLAN if you can. Also add a UPS for the modem/router and hub, so a quick outage doesn’t take your security offline.
