Beyond smart homes, what hobbies are you exploring this year?

I realized most of my free time lately has been spent tweaking automations or checking logs. Fun, but it can start to feel like I’m always “on.” This year I want to keep the smart home stable and actually step away from it more often.

For me, I’m hoping to get back into cycling and maybe some casual photography. Stuff that gets me outside and doesn’t involve an app or a routine firing at the wrong time.

Curious what everyone else is planning. What hobbies are you hoping to explore this year beyond smart homes?

I'm starting to explore 3D printing now. learning to design and print objects that I like

I’m trying to pick something creative that isn’t tied to Home Automation. I’ve been thinking about learning an instrument or doing sketching, something that’s relaxing and doesn’t have a firmware update waiting. Cycling sounds like the perfect reset hobby because it’s simple, you just go.

I’m hoping I find time to take a welding class. I have a few cast iron pieces like a treadle sewing machine base and a big floor grate that have cracks that I’d like to restore and use.
