My parents' house doesn't have a doorbell cam or a security cam yet. I wanna help them install some, need advice from the pros here about the brands or models that are suitable for older people. you know, something simple and easy to use.

Eufy’s been great for my parents. No subscription, clear video, and the notifications aren’t overwhelming. Plus, the local storage means you don’t have to mess with cloud accounts every week.

If simplicity is the priority, sticking with brands that have easy apps and reliable motion alerts is usually the safest bet. Many people choose systems that do not require heavy setup or subscription juggling, especially for older folks. It could help to think about whether they want a wired doorbell or a battery model because that choice narrows things fast. What matters more to them, clearer video or fewer features to manage?

I went with a Ring camera doorbell and I also mounted Ring security cameras with lights, the wired ones with battery backup. Yes I need to pay the monthly subscription but they were super easy to configure in their app on my mobile and link to my home Alexa. They do a great job of monitoring and notifying me when someone is on my property or coming to my door or when a parcel is left on my doorstep. Just recently my neighbor asked me to 'watch his place' as they were going on a short vacation. I simply expanded the detection area of two of my security cameras. The app gave me a notification of when they returned from vacation.
