What’s this smart lighting called

I want the lights in my large lobby and stairwell to stay low when no one is there and to turn on completely when someone is detected. Although I've seen it in a few locations, I'm not sure what the name of this system is. Does anyone know?

it's called bi level lighting and it works just as you need it to. A motion sensor activates when someone moves and the lights go to full brightness and then dim down to your setting when there's no one in the room. You have tons of options to choose from like Philips or Leviton

Yeah, that's motion sensor lighting with dimming, some call it occupancy sensing with daylight harvesting, you can look into smart lighting systems like Lutron or Philips Hue for setups like that.

Yuppo, occupancy sensing or presence sensing lighting. The fixtures dim down to a set level and then kick up to full when motion is detected. You can get it with standalone sensors or with smart drivers built into the fixtures themselves

You can easily set this up with motion sensors and smart switches, especially when using an IOT system like Home Assistant. I have a similar setup for my own front yard lights. If you would prefer not to use an IOT system, I suggest calling Lutron or Leviton's technical support, as both are great about giving advice.
