I wanted to start a direct comparison thread for the Home Automation Forum, because in the USA in 2026 a lot of people seem to be choosing between Reolink, Eufy, and Ring for home cameras. They all work, but the “best” choice feels like it depends on whether you care more about local storage and control, or app convenience and a smoother day to day experience.

Which one do you trust most, and what’s your priority, local storage or app convenience? I’d love real experiences on reliability, notifications, false alerts, subscription pressure, and how the system behaves when WiFi is flaky or the internet goes out. If you’ve switched brands, what was the reason you finally changed?

I went with Ring for all my cameras. Surprising enough, they work in the winter. Yes there is a subscription charge but it runs about $12 a month
