Trying to get my smart home stable before winter rolls in

So my smart home setup has been acting a little moody lately and I am starting to think the colder Kansas weather might be part of it. A couple of cameras froze up twice this week and one sensor went offline in the middle of the night. Now I am thinking maybe I should tighten the whole network before the winter storms hit. Nothing major is broken but little hiccups like that always seem to show up right before the real bad weather arrives. I am not sure if I should upgrade my router or just reorganize the layout. What has everyone else been doing to prep their smart homes for winter this year?

I had the same thing happen when temps dipped. Stuff that worked fine all summer suddenly started acting like it needed a reboot every night. Before upgrading anything, I just rearranged my router and a couple access points and it actually fixed most of the weirdness.

to unfreeze your camera, you need to slowly warm it up by bringing it indoors and removing the batteries to prevent damage, then let it dry for about an hour before reinstalling.
To prevent future freezing and keep it safe, they have a high IP rating, place them under eaves or awnings, protect them with a camera enclosure if needed, and seal wires and connectors

Cold weather can push borderline connections over the edge, so tightening the network is a good idea before storms roll in. Sometimes a router upgrade helps, but reorganizing device placement or adding a small extender can fix the same issue for less work. It could help to check which devices dropped first since that usually points to the weakest link. Do the offline sensors sit far from the router or near exterior walls?
