As winter routines kick in, many of us start tinkering with smart plug schedules to keep the energy bill from having a holiday meltdown. Some schedules help and some just make us feel productive.

I stopped stacking schedules on top of each other. Too many rules were fighting each other and wasting power. Simplifying things actually made the system behave better. Sometimes fewer automations do more.
