Pet door help

We've got this smart pet door that only opens for our cat. She's old and likes going outside every now and then. But then, our sneaky dog figured out how to follow her out when the door opens!

So my question is, is there a door that opens just for the cat's tag but will not let the dog through? Is there like a way to keep the door shut if both pets are near? If you've found something that works, I'd love to hear about it. Hoping it's not too pricey, our dog eats like a horse already haha!

hi @jackchiles55 sounds like you have a smart cat there, so adorable. there's a door with a dual scan or anti tailgating feature. The standard smart doors just read the chip on the way in, but a dual scan door reads the chip of the pet that wants to enter AND the pet that's trying to get out.
You can program it to only let your cat go outside, but it will stay locked if it detects your dog nearby. SureFlap is a brand that makes these, and they're pretty reliable

My colleague's model let you set a one pet at a time mode or only unlock for a specific microchip, which helps. But, a combo of training and a door with selective locking is usually the most reliable way
