Made a skylight illusion in my office 🪟

I jazzed up my windowless home office with a faux skylight using two 2x2 LED panels from Lowe's. Paired with a Kasa smart dimmer switch, it mimics morning and evening daylight cycles.

Bonus: the panels were on clearance, saving me a bundle!
 
That's a genius idea, I love how you made your office feel brighter and more natural, how's the smart dimmer working for you?
 
Thanks for the love. I'll have to snap some pics soon to show off the setup! The smart dimmer has been a gamechanger, making the lighting shifts feel effortless. Makes the office feel more alive.

Thats a great idea and upgrade, and I'm just curious, did it make any difference with your mood or focus for working during the day?
 
Really has made a world of difference. The faux skylight brightens up the space and gives me a little extra pep, like catching a breath of fresh air indoors.

I think it's a great idea to use LED panels with a Kasa dimmer to create a daylight cycle. It's even better with a clearance find. For an even softer, more organic appearance, and if you still haven't you might add a diffuser panel after that.
 
Glad you like the setup. A diffuser panel seem interesting and might help smooth out the light for a more natural look. Are there any brands or materials you'd recommend that won't dull the brightness too much?
 
Nice setup. For diffusers on those lights, you might want to check out some prismatic acrylic or light-passing polycarbonate sheets. They're good at softening the light without dimming it too much
