is auto pilot possible for smart climate control?

I'm trying to turn my living room into a smart climate zone. I have an IR controlled AC and I'm installing a ventilation system (intake/extract fans with speed settings).
Instead of just slapping some basic smart switches on the fans, I want the full autopilot experience. I wonder, can I link Zigbee temp/humidity sensors to my Broadlink IR controller to automatically manage heating, cooling, and fan speeds?
so basically, I want if the temp hits X, run the AC. if the humidity is Y, speed up the ventilation. is this level of complex, automatic control doable?
 
What you’re describing is doable, but it usually works best when everything talks through a single automation brain rather than device to device. Zigbee sensors can absolutely drive logic like temperature and humidity thresholds, while the Broadlink handles the IR side. You might want to think about how much fine tuning you want versus simple on off behavior. Are you aiming for slow gradual adjustments or quick reactions when the room changes?
 
yes, you definitely can do that. although, you need a central smart home hub like Home Assistant. The Broadlink and Zigbee devices don't talk directly to each other, but the hub acts as the bridge that translates data and creates the automation logic
 
yeah, it's absolutely within reach, though the Broadlink app by itself won't cut it. Home Assistant is your secret weapon here.
just grab an affordable Zigbee USB dongle, like a Sonoff or SkyConnect, and connect your Broadlink as an integration
from there, you can craft Blueprints or automations such as "If Zigbee Sensor reads above 25°C, trigger Broadlink IR to turn the AC on."
this setup is the gold standard for effortless smart home automation
 
my advice is to Stick a Zigbee Vibration Sensor or a Power Monitoring Plug on the AC. This way, your hub knows if the AC actually turned on when the command was sent
