Hey all,

I'm fun.

I've been increasingly interested in home automation. A friend of mine has his house set up really nicely, and I would like to do a scaled-down version. My goal is to be able to listen to music in every room on their own speakers and communicate with the device/take calls, but I'm just getting into it, so I'm sure I'm going to want to go even further.

As I said in my initial thread, I rent. I think that is going to be a bit of a barrier, but we'll see.

Thanks for having me on the new forum!

Hi @fun. I also rent and wonder what could be done in an older, but somewhat updated apartment. Maybe some others will come along and let us know what they were able to do in an apartment or rented single-family home.

hey fun,

i have a similar interest here - i come from a live AV background with a passion in audio, wondering if theres a way to do this digitally via Dante, or just using analog switchers or splits.

peace

Hi @fun, welcome to the forum. Have you worked on even a minor bit of home automation currently?
