I'm a grandma interested in combining smart home living with a small or tiny home. It seems to me that the innovative aspect of a home would be beneficial for people as they age and tasks become more challenging to perform.

I'm thinking of the Ring Doorbell as a practical addition. And I'm wanting to learn more about heat/air control and lighting via smart technology.

I don't know if what I have qualifies as a "smart home," although I have a handful of gear that I can control via apps on my phone. I can control my sprinklers with an app (and physical controler) called "B-hyve, my HVAC with iComfort, and my washer/dryer lets me know its status with LG ThinQ. I also have a home theater that I control through a Logitech Harmony Elite remote control, which also has an app that includes the lighting in the room through a controllable dimmer.

Thinking about door locks, but we only have two doors with deadbolts going to the outside (plus one sliding glass door), but that's going to wait until we make up our minds about replacing the front door.
