Coastal homeowners what smart locks are holding up for you?

For anyone living near the coast have you found a smart lock that actually holds up against humidity and salt air? I’ve gone through two different models in the past year, and both started sticking or draining batteries faster once summer hit. I’m in coastal South Carolina, so the humidity never really lets up. I’d love something that stays reliable without having to spray it with WD-40 every month. Bonus if it still works with Alexa or Google Home for easy access control. Anyone found a brand or finish that doesn’t corrode or jam after a few months?

Look for a smart lock certified with a BHMA Grade AAA rating for finish and durability, and specifically seek out 316 Grade Stainless Steel or marine-grade components, as these resist salt corrosion best. The Schlage Encode Plus is a widely-recommended option as it integrates with both Alexa and Google Home. I also suggest installing it under an overhang if possible to ensure battery life and smooth operation, and also use a silicone lubricant on the bolt mechanism annually.

I’m over in coastal Virginia and yeah, salt air eats through hardware like crazy. I switched to a Schlage Encode Plus in satin nickel and it’s been great for two summers now. Still looks clean, battery life’s normal, and it doesn’t seize up. I avoid anything with matte black or bronze finishes like they start corroding fast out here.
