Hey everyone! I just purchased the MiracleWatt which claims to stabilize power and correct the power factor. I know the savings claims are questionable for residential kWh billing.
My main concern is safety and NEC compliance here in Seattle, Washington. I've seen teardowns of similar imported boxes showing very cheap, questionable components and no clear UL listing. I'm nervous about leaving it plugged into an outlet 24/7 near my main panel.
Have any of you seen definitive warnings that the MiracleWatt, or similar unlisted plug-in PFC boxes, are a genuine fire hazard or violate US electrical code simply by being installed? I just want to ensure I'm not creating a safety issue. Thanks for the quick input!
