Got my pool heater on remote

Wrapped up integrating our pool heater with a smart relay and tied it into the home automation hub using Hubitat of course!.... it's now fully remote controllable via my phone, and I set up a schedule with some basic weather triggers and boy it feels like a mini win every time I walk outside to warm water without pushing a single button
Now I'm hungry for more, I'm thinking, what else can I bring into this pool setup? open to ideas, good with voice assistants or don't require a full rewire

That's awesome!!! There's nothing like stepping into a warm pool without lifting a finger. I guess for me that's my thought. I think that's our goal anyway for doing home automation, right? Maybe add smart lights or a weather-based pool cover next!!! Some next-level type of shi.

If you're already automating your pool but still manually vacuuming or testing water chemistry, you're only halfway there, smart automation should save time and keep things balanced without you lifting a finger...my 2 cents

Honestly, smart pool tech is overkill for most people. Half of it just adds complexity, breaks mid-season, and becomes a support nightmare...sometimes a simple timer and manual switch do the job better.

I had a post light in my front yard in a house I bought in ‘02. It used a pool timer. I added a photo sensor so it was only on in the evenings and mornings. Easy Peasy.

spot on! automate the pool pump is often the next logical step.
You can use a heavy duty smart switch or relay to control the main pump
This lets you set schedules, run it on a specific cycle, or even link it to your heater.

Even though the comment made by @Pearl holds water, pun intended on this thread, I think it's a bit blown out of proportion. One person will have a bad experience with some electronic and everyone remembers that, but no one will pay attention to people's setup that worked well for decades.

@Narrow_eyes how about a pool cleaner? A while back I saw post about these things which are essentially like a robot vacuum you'd have in your home.
