Setting up a smart home feels like it should be all futuristic and effortless. Then you live with it for a while and you learn the truth. Sometimes it’s magic. Sometimes it’s a motion sensor trying to start a personal feud with your cat.
So I’m curious. What surprised you most after living with a smart home for a while?
Maybe it was which automations you actually ended up using every day. Maybe it was how much reliability matters more than fancy features. Or maybe it was realizing the best setup is the one you forget about because it just quietly works.
Not looking for a brag post. More like the expectation vs reality moment you only get after a few months of real life use. What was your biggest surprise?
