What small upgrade made a big difference?

What’s the latest upgrade you added to your smart home setup? Maybe a new hub that finally fixed delays, faster Wi Fi that made everything feel snappier, or even smarter plugs that just behave better than the old ones. Always curious what little changes end up making the biggest difference for everyone here.

I just swapped my old mesh for a Wi-Fi 7 router, and honestly that alone fixed like 80 percent of my “why is this light taking three seconds to turn on” problems. Didn’t expect it to matter that much, but the whole house feels snappier now.

The thing that helped me most was just reorganizing my network and putting the smart stuff on its own SSID. Nothing fancy, just separating it from my gaming traffic so the automations stopped freezing whenever I downloaded something. It made the whole house feel less cranky.

Honestly the biggest jump came from replacing a couple of cheap old smart plugs. Once those stopped dragging the network down, everything else started behaving. Sometimes it’s the cheap little gadgets causing the biggest mess.
