auto closing garage after 30 mins possible?

Looking for a way to have my garage door auto-close about 30 minutes after I open it. Been eyeing the Chamberlain MyQ and the Tailwind iQ3, but I can't tell if either actually lets you set a custom delay like that.

I know MyQ does notifications if it's left open, which is fine, but I'm more interested in a true "close after X minutes" feature. Tailwind seems closer with its night mode, but that's not exactly the same thing.

Anyone here already set this up with one of these controllers?? or did you have to get creative with Home Assistant/IFTTT/other automations? Would be great to know what works reliably before I buy.

Not an uncommon question but most apps don't have this feature. Chamberlain MyQ app itself usually has pre-set timers like 1, 5, or 10 minutes but not 30. You can explore integrating with other smart home platforms like Home Assistant, IFTTT, or SmartThings. For instance you could create a rule that says "if the garage door is open for 30 minutes, then close it" and connect your MyQ or Tailwind device through that service. Tailwind's "Night Mode" is a possible alternative but as you pointed out it's more for a specific time window not a custom delay every time the door opens.

Tailwind iQ3 has a built in timed auto close you can set for up to 60 minutes, so it’ll shut the door automatically without extra work. My Q doesn’t have a native timer, but you can use IFTTT or a smart hub like home assistant to close it after X minutes
